Bio

Like an angry swarm invading paradise, Flies In Eden is dedicated to stirring things up. With its hard-rocking melodies and solid grooves, the group's sound is an energetic blend of strong guitar riffs, infectious vocals and driving rhythms that fuse together to create a contagious sonic cocktail. Flies In Eden has a unique sound, carving a niche somewhere between alternative, punk and melodic hard rock.

Formed in Chicago by songwriter August Weidner (guitar, lead vocals), the band soon recruited Tom Kanwischer (bass, backing vocals) and Nick Anderson (drums) to help complete its sound. Although the sound and current lineup of musicians are fresh, each member has extensive experience rocking audiences onstage.

Guitarist/vocalist August Weidner is a prolific songwriter who is quickly developing a signature style all his own. A veteran of several local Chicago bands, Weidner is ecstatic to form a project that puts him in the driver's seat.

Bassist Tom Kanwischer, also an experienced performer, contributes a fluid, dynamic bass style as well as strong vocal harmonies, forming a solid link to Weidner's powerful guitar riffs and melodic vocal lines.

Drummer Nick Anderson completes the trio, providing strong drum grooves with an aggressive and slightly improvisational edge. Anderson is no stranger to the stage and has been playing drums in bands for over 10 years.

Flies In Eden takes pride in its unique, driving style and lists a host of bands that have similar qualities as influences. Groups like Alice In Chains, Radiohead, Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, Jane's Addiction, The Strokes and Soundgarden have been just some of the strong influences on the band.
